(Kha-Nhom Chun)

 

Kha-Nhom Chun or Thai Coconut Layers Cake is one of the ancient Thai desserts that has been a part of Thai culture for many generations. The dessert's taste is a combination of coconut cream, naturally extracted pandan juice, and tapioca flour. The distinction however is in the dessert's layers that are steamed one layer at a time and can be pulled out for fun! It is also used for auspicious occasions for this reason because the dessert's make-up symbolizes good luck as one moves up the layers (like ladders) towards prosperity.
